Wolves Update: The T-Wolves are actually 13-7 in their last 20 games while our Hawks are 10-10 (wow, seems it would be worse than that.) Apprently, in their win over the Pacers, the Indiana crew thought stopping Jefferson would be enough to beat the Wolves, but in the end, seven T-Wolves score in double figures and won the 4th quarter 38-29 to win the game 166-111. Said Al: “When teams feel they have to do that to me, my teammates are going to step up. I have trust and confidence in my teammates to come and take over the game like they did tonight.” Maybe the Hawks should just play defense on eveyone won. I’d like to say if we score 111 points tonight we will get a W but the D has been weak lately and hell, who actually thinks we will score 111 without Joe. More on Joe later. Other key wolves include Sebastian Telfair, Mike Miller (Florida), and Kevin Love (UCLA), who I have not seen play this year but apparently he is surprising many with positive minutes.
Hawks Update/Injuries: Still having a weak January after splitting the weekend against New Jersey and Milwaukee. The Hawks did have 3 full days off, but Joe Johnson figured out a way to catch a viral infection over those four days. Mo Evans has been announced as starting in his place. Although I’m wondering why we don’t put Flip out there for the scoring, maybe Woody wants the size. This injury is obviously going to hurt us. Joe is our best player. The only bright spot I can seeing coming out of this is the rest he will get. See here for more reaction to Joe’s injury. Also, the IV has been missing practice with an ailing relative as well as Thomas Gardner experiencing flu like symptoms and of course ‘Clacks will be in street cloths and may or may not even be in Minnesota tonight. Hofstra is off tonight, so maybe he’ll bother showing up. There is good news. Al is back! I’ve read rumblings about 4 minutes per quarter but with Joe out I guarantee he plays at least 20 minutes.
Etc, Etc: Id like to point out that this Staurday is cheap night a the Highlight Factory. I think I am gonna try to make it out, I am in the market for a new 7 dollar and 50 cent hats.
